Hooray for teeth!

Dear Popple,

Congratulations on your first tooth! I know it doesn’t seem like it right now, but this is a good thing. Having teeth will mean you won’t have to gum your food into submission anymore. Teeth will also allow you to eventually eat all kinds of delicious hard things, like crackers, nuts, pretzels, crusty bread and tacos. It will open up a whole new world of food for you – one that includes cheez doodles and salt and vinegar crisps. You lucky, lucky girl.

Teething is notorious for causing long, sleepless nights for babies and parents alike. Never one to be conventional, you may be the only baby ever who started sleeping better while teething. Like, MUCH better. You went from waking up every 2 hours to sleeping 6-8 hours at a time. Not that I’m complaining. If this is what teething is like, then keep those teeth coming so Mommy can enjoy more evenings with a gin and tonic in front of the TV.

In conclusion: teeth are great. Food is great. Sleeping is great. You’re a teething champion.

Love,

Mommy

  1. We never had any problem with teething either – the teeth seemed to just appear! #bestandworst

    1. Lucky! I still think teething bothers the Popple – she pulls on her ears during the day – but her nighttime sleeping hasn’t been bad considering how little she slept before the teeth!

  2. Seconded! Hooray for teeth. Except when they experiment with using them on you. Ouch! Congratulations to Popple!

    1. I discovered this yesterday when the Popple decided to chew on my finger – something she used to do all the time, but now it hurts!
